I sincerely wish to thank the Pinder family for sharing a treasure trove of photos and information on their uncle. The Pinder family provided many of the images for this website.
Left to Right: Harold H. Pinder Sr. & wife, Gene Lois Pinder (both now deceased), JoAnn Pinder; 2nd row: Laura Lee Marks, Harold Pinder Jr, and Jean Pinder Kolarik.
John Joseph Pinder Jr's military records were
apparently lost in a fire suffered by the National Personnel Records Center in Saint Louis, Missouri, on 12 July 1973.
Fortunately, Medal of Honor files are maintained elsewhere!
I wish to thank the staff at the U.S. Army Military History Institute in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, particularly Michael Lynch.
I am also appreciative to Butler Senior High principal Jeffrey Schnur for sharing the 1931 Senior Magnet pages.

Baseball Statistics
Gary Bedingfield has authored several books and websites devoted to the history of baseball players who died as service members fighting for freedom. Thankfully, Mr. Bedingfield granted my request for permission to add Joe Pinder's baseball statistics to this website.
